Lori-Ann Beausoleil

Partner, Forensic Services, PwC Canada

As the National Leader of PwC’s Forensic Services practice, Lori-Ann Beausoleil has oversight of e-discovery, investigations, data, disputes, anti-bribery and corruption, compliance reviews and corporate intelligence service offerings at PwC Canada. She is also involved with the development and execution of the Consulting and Deals Real Estate strategy. Lori-Ann began her career at PwC in 1988 and became a partner in 1999. She is a CA and holds a BComm from the University of Toronto. She is also a member of the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountants and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Alexander Ikejiani

Lawyer and Adjunct Professor of Law

Alexander Ikejiani is Counsel at the Department of Justice Canada in Ottawa and an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and Nova Scotia. He is also a Certified Specialist in Environmental Law by the Law Society of Ontario. Alexander a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sports, Learning for a Sustainable Future, and Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL), Ottawa Chapter.

Martha Jackman

Professor, Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa

Professor Jackman specializes in the area of constitutional law, with a particular focus on issues relating to women and other marginalized groups. She has held various positions within the law school including Vice-Dean of the French Common Law Program, and Shirley E. Greenberg Chair for Women and the Legal Profession. She publishes primarily in the areas of socio-economic rights, equality, and the Canadian Charter.

Dr. Onye Nnorom

Family doctor and Public Health & Preventive Medicine specialist

Dr. Nnorom is Associate Program Director of the Public Health & Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto. She is also Black Health Theme Lead for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto as well as President of the Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO).

Danielle Rawlinson

Law Student and Former National President for the Black Law Students' Association of Canada (BLSA)

Danielle attends the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law. Her commitment to the community has led her to immerse herself in various legal clinics and community outreach organizations such as ACORN. Danielle was the 2018-2019 National President for the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada (BLSA) and was the 2017-18 National Conference Chair in her 2L year.

Alycia Shaw

Lawyer, Human Rights and Labour Law

A respected practitioner with Jewitt McLuckie & Associates LLP (JM&A), she represented public and private sector locals at grievance arbitrations an administrative tribunals on a wide range of matters. She is also an adjunct professor of law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa. Alycia is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and an active member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers. She also sits on the board of iSisters Technology Mentoring and volunteering with the Parkdale Food Centre in Ottawa.

Assistant Professor and Hematologist/Oncologist, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa

Dr. Simpson joined the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in 2012. She received her medical degree from McGill University in 2005. She completed her general pediatrics training and hematology/oncology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. During her fellowship training, she also completed a Master’s in public health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Simpson is an active member of the Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO).
